Since YAFFS2 will share probably 90% of YAFFS code, I have been realigning 
YAFFS towards YAFFS2 with any major efforts (eg. doing the soft delete 
stuff).  There are no definite dates for YAFFS2, but if someone needs it and 
is prepared to sponsor development, then I'm sure a definite deliverty date 
could be worked out.

There is no reason why YAFFS will not work with a 16-bit wide bus (so long as 
they still have 512-byte pages) . These devices use 8-bit commands and x16 
only for data transfer which makes the data transfer faster.
