Yes.  The direct interface is the primary mechanism I use for testing the core 
file system.

"Released" is a strong word :-). YAFFS2, in various forms, has been in 
shipping products for well over a year now. Some of the newer features such 
as extended tags and reverse scanning have only been in use for a few months.
